His wife has conditioned him to believe that performing menial houshold tasks is the way to assert his dominance. She intentionally does things counter to the way he prefers and then “submits” and lets him do it his way. She plays chess, he’s stuck on checkers. I’m sure that’s not the only way she’s getting what she wants in the marriage.
