re: JJ Watt led the coup against BOB

Early in his tenure, the offense was average with no name QBs. Given that BOB was considered an offensive guru, you gave him some benefit of the doubt.
With Watson, the offense hasn't ever looked like it was elite or trending to be elite. Even with the division championships, it never felt like the Texans were a contender.
Old school miserable coaches like BOB are a dying breed. He's obviously grumpy and temperamental, constantly talking down to the media also. In the few days since he was fired, it seems like now reports are coming out that he's a major POS (which I don't know if I fully believe but may be possible).

He did coach up Christian Hackenberg so much that he was bad for two years and still was a 2nd rder. That's really BOB's crowning achievement as a coach.

people itt saying BOB is a colossal dick or a mean person really have no idea what they're talking about
he's a cantankerous with the media, but honestly frick the media.
by all accounts he's a decent guy, just a mediocre coach and absolute garbage GM. as a texans fan, I'm absolutely ecstatic that he's gone, but I wish him no ill will.
both watson and nuk were asked about him today, and both took the high road. couldn't have hated the guy THAT much

I'm shocked it took this long to try and get him fired.

Bill O’Brien...
-traded DeAndre Hopkins for a second-rounder
-traded a second-rounder for Brandin Cooks
-gave Hopkins’s money to Randall Cobb
-traded away Houston’s two first-rounders
-signed Tunsil to a precedent-altering contract
Ridiculous.
There are a small number of people in the world capable of being good NFL coaches. There are also a limited number of people who are capable of being a good NFL GM. It is extremely rare that someone has the ability to handle both these jobs simultaneously. He never should have been made the GM

Update: it's racist that Watt got him fired according to black Twitter. "SOUNDS ABOUT WHITE!"

?? Makes sense now. Duane Brown. Clowney. Hopkins. Watson. None of them could get this done. But WATT? Oh yea, that was the last straw. ??

It seems to be a popular opinion; not sure why you think you think the good denizens of the MSB shouldn't be apprised of it? ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

Being a jerk is not an issue if you win enough
Being a jerk and not a winner is a recipe for disaster

The Texans should have fired him after they blew that lead to the chiefs. Get the right guy in there, keep Hopkins and they’re still relevant. The only other team in the afc south that is a threat is Tennessee.
