Doesn't work that way. Bad numbers bring rate adjustments... unless your media buyer is a complete moron.

That's what I meant. I was replying to the guy who said who cares, they have higher ratings than everyone else.

Have not supported these mopho's since Brees and others capitulated to BLM... Done! Let's see if those big bonuses and signing contracts get reduced over the next couple of years.

NFL sends memo to owners not to panic over "crashing ratings"

In other news, anonymous sources say that the NFL is holy shite panicked over "crashing ratings." It's hilarious they're blaming COVID and the election. The virus I can see, fans want to go to games, fans want to watch games on tv with fans in the seats. But maybe, just maybe, politicizing the games with endless racial bullshite hurt your ratings. Is that possible, there, NFL executives? Think about it.

I don’t think it is the entire reason for the drop off but you don’t have to be smart to understand the opinions on the nfl’s stance on social justice isn’t mutual to this message board

The Dallas Stars owner came out and said they sold less season tickets because of it

Is it really far-fetched though. Hasn't TV ratings across the board for all sports sucked?

It's almost as if they all pushed the same BS narrative, oh wait..........

I mean we would have to find out exactly how many violent felons, rapists, kid touchers, and people that beat their significant others are on this message board first

Those are the target audience of the NFL now

Until those stats are pulled its simply unknown

ou think the owners wont be thinking about their bottom line, despite what the league says.....

Wait until they open the gates back up and there are 15,000 to 20,000+ seats empty. Most companies already had committments for season tickets this year so they couldn't do anything about it or do anything about sponsorships.

Next year will be a different story. We used to have Texans season tickets and it would be very difficult to give tickets to any customers we have. Just about all of the ones I deal with personally have no interest in pro sports anymore. 2 of the larger companies I deal with dropped their Astros season tickets.

In some ways they are lucky the gates aren't open.

From the day MLB returned through the end of NFL Week 4, total viewing of live sports is up +7% nationally.

Last week on TV:

- 20 most-watched shows were all NFL or news

- 34 of the top 35 were live content (exception: 60 Minutes)

- 3 primetime entertainment shows in the top 50 (Masked Singer, Dancing WTS, Weakest Link)

NFL ratings, Week 4: The slide continues

LINK

Yahoo Sports, that bastion of Conservative journalism

quote:

Thursday Night Football (NFL Network) was down an astounding 70 percent from last year, but that comes with a huge caveat: last year’s game aired on NFL Network and Fox. Broadcast TV always jacks up ratings, and it’ll do the same thing when TNF returns to Fox later this season.
Still: only 5.41 million watched the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets play last Thursday. (If you’re not a fan of either of those teams, or if you don’t have money riding on the outcome ... why would you?)
Sunday Night Football (NBC) took a steep dive, falling 37 percent in viewership from last year. The matchup was substandard — a winless Philadelphia versus an injury-ravaged San Francisco — even if the game ended up being fairly decent. If there’s a worrying sign for the NFL, it’s Sunday night.

Now what?

Literally every single professional sport in the entire world was on television multiple times during this window

Only being up 7% against a year where half those sports would not be even playing is pretty not great

What do you think that +7% goes to one sport or something?
