“Starting today, we will remove Facebook Pages, Groups and Instagram accounts for representing QAnon. We’re starting to enforce this updated policy today and are removing content accordingly, but this work will take time and will continue in the coming days and weeks,” Facebook wrote in a press release. “Our Dangerous Organizations Operations team will continue to enforce this policy and proactively detect content for removal instead of relying on user reports.”

The Facebook spokesperson said the company is “not going after individual posts,” but whole accounts that spread the conspiracy theory, which has been tied to acts of violence.

Platform or publisher? Silver or lead?

Why hasn’t that been established? They are a publisher. I know it. You know it they know it. Make it official!!

Because you’re not allowed to see information unless Mark Z approves of the content first.

Doesn’t doing this give credibility to them?

Almost like they’re forcing Congress to address the 230 issue

digging their own graves. know nothing about QAnon, but the more these tech giants go against the first amendment, the more Americans are going to despise them and want change..

Facebook is walking headlong into an antitrust wrap

Use of “militia” is very interesting.
It was also thrown in with the white supremacy question at the debate, where it went unchallenged.

Now you just gave those people evidence when they say FB is shutting them down to cover for the elites. You’re only giving them more followers.

like any other militarized social movement, militia or terror group
Including ANTIFA, John Brown Gun Club and BLM inc, right?

I don't follow QAnnon so this is news to me that it is a Militarized movement?
Are they not confusing QAnnon with Antifa and-or BLM?

A company spokesperson said the enforcement, which started Tuesday, will “bring to parity what we’ve been doing on other pieces of policy with regard to militarized social movements,” such as militia and terror groups that repeatedly call for violence.

The best way to deal with these groups is to ignore them - this only encourages them

PETA is likely tied to more acts of violence than the Q movement filled with old ladies and soccer moms. Literally millions of followers all over the world yet cities aren't burning because of this movement.
Facebook doesn't want the information to spread.

What I found particularly funny about that post is the poster slandering "Louisiana educations" and seeing that they were an LSU fan.
