Sorry AIRLINES NEED TO COLLAPSE- NO Bailout

There has never been a more poorly run industry.
They get govt bailouts EVERY 10 years or so.
Here’s a fact for you since the last bailout they have spent $96 BILLION ON STOCK BUY BACKS!

Collapse will breed competition and some business person that will come in and fill the void and run it profitably.

Recently flew to a couple different states and in 8 flights, one aircraft was not a crop duster and none of my trips were direct flights unless i wanted to break the bank for a ticket.

On the one hand you have to have a functioning airline system in a modern country.
On the other hand if they collapse the planes and crews are not going up in smoke so somebody else can take a stab at flying them.
When the planes are bought for pennies on the dollar if that happens better buy the scheduling software too.

Couldn’t agree more. Service has gotten so bad would rather drive across the country than fly again. American Airlines was so rude last time- I’m out. Crumble & let new competition take place

Eh I am usually against bailouts but not just any great businessman can start an airline. It is so expensive and has such low profits very few want to/can do it

The OP was right, but both ideas above are as stupid as any I’ve heard. In fact, these ideas are counter to what the OP posted which was “just to leave them alone and let them fail. Hands off. What you are proposing is for government to micromanage them.
