Are the "Proud Boys" a white supremacist group?

I read lots of articles (and their wiki page) that pronounces that they are a white-supremacist group, or a "neo-fascist" group. As best I can see, this determination was made by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and everybody else just ran with it. But the Proud Boys says they are no such thing, and have policies against racism, white-supremacy and unprovoked violence. They consider themselves as a counter-balance to Antifa, and say that anybody who loves America is a brother. Other than the fact that they are mostly white, what have they done which would indicate they are racist or white-supremacists? USA TODAY

100% not a white supremacist group. It's amazing that the focus is on the group standing up to the attackers, while the actual attackers are protected, ignored, and even celebrated. I pray most Americans see it for what it is.

They have all races in that group. So how can they be white supremacist? It’s just the left calling be Shapiro a Jew a white supremacist. The left has no common sense and can only smear rather than talk policy or records.

Their leader is a Cuban American named Enrique Tarrio, I shite you not. Gavin McInnes who founded them is married to a Native American woman. Awful lot of race mixing to be a white supremacist organization so no I would not classify them as a white supremacist group. What I would classify them as a Nationalist/Anti Communist organization dedicated to combatting the rising tide of Marxism around America.

The Proud Boys are 2020's version of 2016's Pepe and Alt-Right. Neither of these were racist, yet the Dems launched an effective campaign to label them as such. Well, effective for Alt-Right.
Why was it effective? Conservatives started talking about the Alt-Right on the left's terms, so it just became known as racist.
This is exactly why Trump should not and will not throw the Proud Boys under the bus. The moment he accepts that premise and falls into that trap, he falsely disparages a group of people and ultimately destroys them.

"Western Chauvinists" would be a more accurate description. I believe that was the term some of them used when they formed.

Do liberals hate them?
Do they welcome anyone who loves the country they live in?
Do they support Donald Trump?
I mean if you answer yes to these questions, they obviously are a white supremacy group.

The leader is black
