Baton Rouge Police arrest 16 Including NBA Young Boy, recover 14 guns and 79K in Cash

The Baton Rouge Police Street Crimes Division along with FBI Agents received information from anonymous
concerned citizens of individuals brandishing guns in an abandoned lot at 3866 Chippewa St around 4:30pm
yesterday evening. Upon arrival multiple individuals fled on foot and others were detained for questioning.
During the course of the investigation officers confiscated drugs, guns and a large amount of money.
Police arrested 16 individuals, confiscated 14 guns (1 stolen, 2 guns with illegal stocks) and seized 79,000.00
dollars in U.S. currency.
Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul stated, “We have consistently said that we can't do this alone. We need
help from the community to solve crimes. When you See Something, Say Something. This is another example
of our citizens getting involved and calling us when they witness suspicious activity. Thank you for your help

Please don’t ever talk to me about why the Baton Rouge Police wear level 3 vest, carry militaristic long guns, and at times use a military grade armored vehicle.

It is important to remember that when someone is arrested for a crime it does not mean they are guilty of anything.
Kentrell Gaulden is innocent of the crimes he was arrested for yesterday evening. He did not possess any firearms nor did he possess any controlled dangerous substances.
Law enforcement arrived on scene without any evidence of a crime occurring and immediately detained 15-20 young Black men solely based on an alleged tip that firearms were present on the scene. We still have the Second Amendment in the United States.
The immediate detention of these Black men was illegal in that it violated their constitutional rights. The subsequent searches conducted by law enforcement were also illegal. Even with the illegal searches that were conducted, no firearms or controlled dangerous substances were found on Mr. Gaulden’s person or in his immediate control.
Mr. Gaulden is innocent of the charges he was booked on last night and looks forward to defending himself as such.
