White spots on TV Screen?

I have a 5 year old LG TV that has 3 white spots that appeared over the weekend. A google search reveals that its lenses that have become unglued. I found several DIY repairs, but reviews seemed to be mixed and the repair is not for faint of heart.
I asked a local repair man and he said that gluing the lenses is only a short term fix and the LED strips need to be replaced for $200.
It's insane to spend $200 to repair a 55" LG TV that's 5 years old, right?

At current TV prices, yes. Bought a 50 inch 4k UHD Samsung Smart TV for $350 back in May. The 55 inch version is $400. I would keep using what you have until it doesn't work and buy a new one.

I inherited One that did this and I’ve fixed it twice and it still has them falling off. Going in the trash as soon as I can get a new one. Don’t bother fixing it.

depends on the model. For an OLED a $200 repair makes sense.
