That is what contributed mostly to the loss

I will always be of the opinion that penalties with those resulting in 1st downs for the opponent - be it automatic or on 3rd down after a defensive stop - have the biggest effect on the outcome of games.

If he’s lined up at qb he’s keeping it.

I dont think that is necessarily true as he does hand off or pass at least half the time. BUT he definitely doesn't actually run the read option. I think they tell him from the sideline whether he should give or keep cuz there is no reason he should have kept the ball on the fumble and earlier in the game he gave it to kamara despite having numbers on the edge.

If the guy can't be trusted to make a simple read option read or if he's really that bad at making the read, how can you trust him to read a defense as a passer?

The hill experiment has run its course.

Because of one turnover. . .

Or because of the countless drives that have been killed putting him into the game the last few years.

The runs in the 2nd half were not as successful as in 1st half. Not sure if that's bc peat got hurt or the packers just took it away.
What I suspect happened-

Green Bay came in prepared to play a "normal" Brees-led offense, kinda soft and ready to defend against some passes to the first down marker over the middle. TE, MT's replacement, etc. They took that away, whether or not we even looked for it. Brees got hit a few times standing back there.
But we countered by running and throwing a lot of real short passes, and made some plays in space. Kamara was huge in that, but still, most of the "passes" were basically 3 yd gains if the defender tackled.

They then adjusted at half, taking the run and short game away. Kamara still made a couple plays, but it was on 2 yd passes. His TD could have been a "no gain" if he gets tackled immediately.

Which creates serious concern- classic Brees would then have been scorching defenses on 10 yd passes, getting 200 yds in the second half. But last night, when the defense shifted, he didn't open it up.

If that happened because he CAN'T open it up, then- he's done and the Brees era is over.

He literally gave it to Kamara earlier in the game.

As per usual, the board overreacts to a single bad play. We forget so quickly that we damn near beat the Vikings in the playoffs last season, even though the team and Drew played terribly, thanks to one guy: Taysom. He’s still one of the most versatile weapons in the league today. Not the QB of the future imo, but a guy I want on our side.

Because they were all over him each time he was on the field. NFL is a copy cat league and Green Bay just laid the blueprint down on how to stop hill
