Trump says Christie, Giuliani assisting debate prep

“We had a little debate prep before we came here,” Trump told reporters at a press briefing Sunday evening, gesturing to Christie and Giuliani, both of whom were seated on the side of the room.
Trump said that a “combination” of Christie and Giuliani have been playing Biden in preparatory sessions before the debate, which is scheduled for Tuesday evening in Cleveland. Trump also said that taking questions from White House reporters was helping to prepare him, before criticizing the press’s treatment of Biden as soft.

This is a sad, but spot on statement. Trump gets roasted by the press more than his opponent, meanwhile that very same press asks Biden whether he likes labs or golden retrievers better.

Say what you will about Christie, but his tactics will be needed.
Typically I would say get Lion Ted in to help but his debate style involves a semi competent adversary. No need to stay classy and kill them with facts when the opponent is practicing not shitting his pants.

As a career politician, he probably has a pretty good feel for the mindset of Joe, helping identify the most likely points of attack.
