Can anyone please give me an update from DeRidder? The in-laws are at my house.
Just spoke with family friends in DeRidder, he said tarps are blown off, more shingles are coming off, wind driven rain is coming through the doors and windows, and power is out. He said it’s not good.

The rain shield went all the way to Beaumont. This thing was way broader than tightly spun Laura

Blinked a few times here, stayed off about a minute, back on now. Outline areas are out of power. Probably got around 6 inches of rain by now and it's still coming down hard.

So for those in Lafayette, would you say this was worse for the city than Laura?

Yep. This was always going to be the story with Delta. A broad windfield and more widespread surge. It is a bigger storm than Laura and was moving alot of water.

New Iberia's had hurricane force gusts for 3 hours and still going with a peak of 86 mph. That's gonna rough some stuff up.
