What made Curly Hallman so bad at LSU. Didn’t he have a good resume

He played for the Aggies. Need I say more?

Will we kick off at the start of both halves like he did that one time to honor him too?

I don't know how Curley did it but amazingly he was 3-1 against the people we play tomorrow.

Well we had decent talent. Their coach must have been as bad as ours. I don’t remember who it was back then.

They should adorn Curley’s Corner with his cutout in the entire section.

I try to look at Hallman in a positive light- we had to get that bad and then f/u with a cheap coach in Dinardo who only hired his friends that finally got the Board to pony up real money to get a real coach in Saban...

Let's not forget that Farve was recruited Southern Miss as safety and really only because his dad was a local HS coach. It's not like Hallman found him as a diamond in the rough. He lucked into him as a QB.

No one recruited him, pretty sure he ran the option in high school.

The 93 Moo St. game was on a couple days ago. One thing really stood out, Jamie Howard could’ve been a very good QB with competent coaching.

One of my dads best friends lived in Woodstone off highland road back in those days. We shared tix with them and tailgated for every game together. We used to drive to their house on game days and all ride to the stadium together in their van. Curly lived in Woodstone as well. After just about every game we would drive past Curley’s house on the way back through the neighborhood and there would be 10-20 for sale signs in his yard. Had to be brutal to come home to. Lol

He did alright for himself but yeah it was a budget coaching staff.

LSU 3 UF 58 My lowest moment in Tiger Stadium

You’re probably right, but Saban’s fricken loss to UAB 13-10 in 2000, and O’s fricken 24-21 loss to Troy in 2017 were definitely kicks to the testicles!

Will never forget two UAB fans in fricken cowboy hats, boots, and dusters chanting “UAB Blazers” behind me almost all the way to my car.

Will also always remember a middle aged Trojan woman shaking her Troy shaker at me screaming “we won” over and over. I’ve never wanted to punch a woman in the face more than at moment, and I’m a long time married man!

Fortunately, unlike the two UAB arses, I knew I could take her in a fair fight.
I told her to savor the moment because this was the best victory Troy would ever have in her lifetime, and that next Saturday her team would return to mediocrity. And yes, losing to lowly Troy was a real low point for LSU, but we had won national championships before and we would again. She said I didn’t have to be so mean. I said yes I did.

I thought about her on my drive home from the Clemson victory, and wondered if she could taste the bile in her mouth like I did leaving Tiger Stadium that night with her shaker in my face. I smiled and said “we won”. My wife smiled and said yes we did honey, not realizing that I was thinking of another woman.

CURLEY'S horrible horrible horrible coaching allowed me the chance to acquire great seats in the old bowl which I still have...
Saw him speak at a luncheon once and he was so drunk he could hardly stand up and talk...what an embarrassment he was to the university and the state..

I was on a recruiting visit that game. After the loss being in the locker room was rough.
