#Chargers QB Tyrod Taylor missed Sunday’s game because he experienced complications from a pregame injection that was administered to address a rib injury, per me and @MikeGarafolo. His status for this Sunday is not yet clear. But that’s why Justin Herbert was called upon.

Tyrod Taylor was planning to wear a flak jacket to protect himself. He popped up on the injury report Friday, but since it was no doubt he was playing, he was removed from the final report.

They need to go ahead and bite the bullet and name Herbert the starter going forward. They will not be competitive with Tyrod.

They have a great defense but that checkdown offense is hard to watch

Did they give him a local injection and give him a pneumothorax or something?

Yeah it’s ride it out season with Herbert. His issues aren’t going to improve themselves on the bench, just on the field.

Was it a Russian doctor that administered the injection?

Herbert looked very solid overall considering he was a game time first career start. I’m sure there will be some bumps but I dunno why they wouldn’t just roll with him going forward

I was surprised when they came out and said last night that Taylor was still going to be the starter if he's healthy. I figured they saw enough from Herbert to just ride with him. I thought he looked pretty good. Tyrod Taylor is a great #2 imo but the future is Herbert

Tyrod Taylor experiment needs to be over. Dudes had more chances than Nina Hartley.

That's not on Anthony Lynn, brah. I don't think anyone was forcing Taylor to get a shot.

That's right just like the Falcons & Broncos they've got a stupid game day head coach. Naming Taylor the starter when he's healthy again is a joke after what we saw from Herbert. In OT he even punted the ball back to Maholmes on 4th & 1 from around his own 40. That's called coaching scared with no balls.

Tyrod Taylor should not be an NFL starter

It’s not 2004 - you don’t have to waste a year of your rookie’s career on the bench.

Tyrod Taylor is the better QB right now which is why they won the first game with him as starter and would have won this game with him as the starter. You may not like Taylor for whatever damn reasons, but the guy is a solid football QB. He can win with the right team, but Herbert isn't ready right now even though he played well against KC. He made mistakes in that game because he's a rookie and that can't be helped, but some of those throws that the Chargers scored on could have easily been intercepted. But I think he will be ready next season for sure to take over.
