Did the kitchen, three baths and laundry for around 12k if I remember correctly. Can get you the number for him. First class operation with a pretty good size warehouse for selection.

Technically, it is dolomite.
Can you put a hot pot on it like granite?
Posted on 9/18/20 at 3:51 pm to tilco
Yes, but it's softer than granite. Pots could scuff/scratch/chip the dolomite

I just redid my kitchen with quartz and it ended up being $5,500. I believe it was around $52/sq ft

Currently waiting on countertops to be installed. Ended up going with Quartzite which was right at $60 per sq ft for 3cm

quote:Honestly I find quartz to appear completely synthetic and it reminds me of the plastic stuff they used in the 70s. As expensive as it is it looks cheap.
Quartz can be just as pretty

lol yeah if anyone says that quartz has the depth and beauty of natural stone is lying to themselves. Quartz is 10% plastic and it looks that way. No synthetic countertop on God's green earth comes close to the natural shine, polish, depth, and movement of natural stone. Imagine walking into the Queen of England's palace or an Egyptian Pharaoh's tomb and seeing man-made quartz everywhere.

Wow you are just out of my league I guess. I will just go back to my peasant shack so as not to annoy the TD royalty in here.

I guess that’s at my comment; you should shop somewhere other than Home Depot and see what modern quartz looks like.
Of course, I don’t live in an Egyptian tomb, so what do I know about fancy.

Quartzite>>> granite >>> anything else >>> quartz

I actually prefer granite over quartzite. I like the glossier pop of granite over quartzite. My opinion only.

Good news friend, you can get all the New Venetian Gold and Saint Cecilia you desire at an enormous discount in todays market.

Yep and that shite will still look better than the garbage that cambria makes and charges $50/sq ft for. They have a hell of a marketing team though- and they’ve poured millions into the HGTV shows.
Anyway y’all with white quartz check back in ten years and let me know if it is still stain proof and hasn’t faded at all.

It is a hell of a stance to say that crushed aggregate mixed with plastic and polished is aesthetically more pleasing than polished natural stone lmao

What is the paint color of your cabinets?
