That’s my point! Motivation and passion matter

Hoke was a joke, but he always played OSU close. Even his last putrid year

OSU's teams when Hoke was coach were not near as good as they were during Harbaugh's tenure, save for 2014. The 2015 and 2019 teams were two of the best in OSU history, while the 2011 team (Hoke's only win) was one if its worst in decades (as a result of tattoo-gate).

And 2 of those games were quite close with Harbaugh (2 OTs in one).

But I think you're overstating their significance compared to talent, development, and scheme/philosophy.

I think you can blame Harbaugh for not bringing in the talent, developing it, and providing a scheme to maximize it as well as OSU (and probably PSU). But I don't think that passion is the cause for the disparity.

In fact, Shea Patterson was ridiculously passionate, maybe TOO passionate (tried to fight some fans when one made fun of the score 2 years ago at OSU).
