Gauthier? I'm pretty sure he moved across the Parish line into Orleans, but at another place also named Metairie about 20 years ago.

he died almost 20 years ago

That is one of the shittiest rouses. It needs a renovation badly. The quality of people in there is not great either. Have you been recently? Langensteins has a much better clientele and never crowded. Even during Christmas season there are barely lines.

The Rouses on Airline has long lines often. It used to be nicer and better, but it's not anymore.

I wouldn't call it one of the s***tiest Rouses--- Vets and Clearview are still worse--- but I agree it has gone downhill A LOT lately. Seems to have gone in line with ALL grocery stores since COVID-19. I was aslo sorry that assistant manager at the Labarre store Ms. Berva died.

Can't compare Rouse's to Langenstein's (or for that matter Conseco's). Apples and oranges.

Langensteins prices their items to keep the tennis moms coming back and that rouses crowd out.

Seriously though, for the money their butchers and seafood departments are some of the best around.

Dorignacs butcher department is much bigger, but not as good quality. whole foods seafood department is better, but very pricey for the most part.

He had a house on Woodvine too. Mickey Loomis is current resident of that house now. We know their neighbors.

It was nice as shite when it was first opened as a Rouse's years back.

It's steadily become shittier over the last couple of years. One of many issues is that there are no cart corrals in the parking lot so about 40% of the parking spaces are permanently taken up by abandoned carts.

PSA: Fresh Market sucks, no one go there.
