Olde Tyme Grocery, sort of. But it's poboys.

Old Tyme does a great poboy.

One of the most underrated Poboy in Lafayette is Logan Farms, right by Twins on Johnston. Their ham poboy with Zapps is a great meal.

As for a cheap sandwich in an unassuming building, Champagns/Patsy’s in the Saint Streets is good. Use to get 80 cent chili dogs there.

I drove over there at lunch and had a Cajun turkey and pepperjack a few months ago. I hadn't had one in years. It still tastes the same.

I used to get the double meat Cajun Turkey/Ham/pepper jack cheese fully dressed with the Cajun crawtators. God damn that was a sandwich right there

It's still pretty cheap too. I think it was like $7 with chips and a drink.

I lived off of AM Mart, the Silver Moon and Ingas when I at LSU.

When I was in school, it was called "Bee's Grocery". Plate lunches and sandwiches. Under 5 bucks for a lunch (including dessert and drink) that left you needing a nap.

I haven't been there in ages. DO they still have a good Muffaletta?

OP there is only 1 AM Mart.

Ill throw Chris' poboy's out there as a close substitute. They have some of the best restaurant gumbo too.

I lived in Oakbrook right behind the little shopping center AM mart is in my freshman year and the little Korean ladies knew me by my voice on the phone. I’d call in as I was putting on my shoes and my sandwich would be hot and ready by the time I walked up to the store. Was great. “Oh herro Goats you wan usual? Kk cya soon.”
