I’m not familiar with the Hilton but I absolutely hate the Times Square Marriott Marquis and it needs to be demolished, the architecture is atrocious. It was designed by John Portman who gave us the horrible architecture that defined the 70s and early 80s. Brutalism mixed with his "cinematic" sort of style where you took open elevators up and showed you one layer of ugliness to the next. I know some people like him but I don’t like his style at all and unfortunately it seemed to definite a decade.

I liked the revolving bar at the top of it. Good spot to grab a beer and get a 360 degree view of the city.
