So last year, I drove all over North Florida trying to get my boykin on some doves and only got one shot all season. Im in Jacksonville and the closest public planted dove field (in Florida) is 2.5 hours away.

So this year, I've been looking for a better spot and discovered GA has a number of public planted dove fields much closer to me.

I've never hunted Georgia before, but am excited about this new discovery.

Before I go buy an out of state license, I was wondering if any one has any experience with any of these South GA public dove fields?

Has anyone had any luck so far this season?

Anything else I should know?

I called the DNR Regional Office to pose these questions, but the phone was disconnected, just fyi

I'd just browse Facebook for South Georgia pay shoots. Usually find a season stand for 2-$300. I've got some second season fields (sesame) because it's too damn hot to shoot first season. Let me know if I can help you. I'm in Johnson County,Georgia.

If they ask you where you’re from don’t you ever tell em Florida. Be damn sure they know you’re from Louisiana. Floridians have a tendency to follow through on low birds and aren’t particularly welcomed in many dove fields in Georgia. Also, in the future I’d recommend you find a field to buy for a season or a small field to lease so you can plant your own field. You can lease dirt for $20 acre.
