I find it interesting that Woodward has been sitting on this information for six months and only just now decides to reveal it to the world.
Because if he put it out 6 months ago it would be forgotten news. You put it out closer to the election. Its an obvious strategy both sides use.

Media reports at the time were trying to scare the shite out of people and were saying 2 million deaths (or even more) and trump was trying to not panic people. Guess what he was right. 200,000 dead in a country of 350,000,000 most of which would would have died anyway in the next year during a once in 100 year global pandemic is pretty good. If you take out those directly killed by democratic governors then you get even lower.

Would it be a stretch to say if the President knew something about Covid, all the ranking members of Congress in the House and Senate also knew? And knowing, when POTUS put a ban on travel to and from China, then later also Europe, why the firestorm of sky screaming and charges of xenophobia from them? And Nancy, inviting people to come party together in the crowded streets of SF Chinatown, knowing it was dangerous and all? And if they knew, is it much of a stretch to wonder what Shillary knew, and when?

Knowing first hand how in South Carolina the data from a nursing home was falsified to increase numbers the 200K number is a lie. How many people ACTUALLY died from COVID and how many would have died anyway and were attributed to the Chinese virus? Best example is the decapitated motorcycle rider who lost his head but died of COVID. I watched the weekly numbers produced from my mothers nursing home and they were always highly exaggerated.
