schedule a home & home 5 year deal. Playing fricking Tulane, Troy and other (except Appy State) cream puffs. If you are a major college football program then I say play the best there is (or who claim to be) and settle it on the field. And dont't give me this (our SEC schedule is too brutal crap). If you think your the best then take em' on. One of the best games I ever saw in Tiger Stadum was the 79 LSU/USC game.

If LSU played nothing but top 20 teams, it would lose 2+ every year. Then a team with a real cupcake schedule would play ahead of LSU in the NCG. Think before you type.

No chance in Hell for USC and LSU to do a 5 year deal. a Home and Home is about the most you could ever expect, and that aint gonna happen either.

People need to quit bitching about the schedule and just enjoy every game on it's own. fricking whiners.

And yet, at the end of the year, we still play more ranked teams than them.

This has been discussed ad nauseum, but it is important to note that the LSU and Tulane deal is massively beneficial to both sides. Yes Tulane gets to sell 20,000 or so tickets they wouldn't, but LSU gets a great deal.

A continuous series of only home appearances at TS requires purchasing cupcakes, if you can get them you pay between 500-800k. If we needed 3 or 4 of those a year, invariably b/c of supply and demand we'd have to pay the higher end to get one for at least one of those slots.

Assuming we can get one for 600k. A game at TS has a 2.85 profit at LSU LINK (this is 2.4 from '05, ticket prices up $8 since then, presumably about 1/3 of that eaten by higher operating costs, but safe to add to the 2.4 to bring up to 2.85) , take out .6 and you are left with 2.25 or 4.5 over two years for AD budget.

Tulane deal is a full 2.85 one year (no payout to them) and a 1.8 payment from the year in New Orleans (selling 40k at 45 each) so that is 4.65 over a two year cycle. Making LSU more money than they would by having an extra troy game.

Its a great deal all around.

'Cause they're in the Pac-10 and don't have a conf. championship game.

I would love a home and home with USC. How could you be a fan and not want that? I'm not saying a USC type team every year but definitely some decent OOC games.

It seems the new AD agrees as well.

Nope.

USC has ALWAYS scheduled tough OOC foes, long before there were any Conf. Champ. games and long before SOS was a factor.

I very much doubt that USC has a mangina. Why would LSU have to beat 4 #1's just to get to the national title game when no other team has even beaten one # 1 team through the season to many tough games whenever USC has to play one tough team through the whole year to make it. come on think before you type
