That's great news. Hopefully an alum will pay attention to the alumni base.

I vote to drop football down a notch and compete for a national title every year. They've done it before you know.

They say the ULM athletic department budget is THE lowest in the nation. Improving that situation is a mighty tall order.

I've said this since I competed there. Football would be a step down in competition but everything else would be about even in the southland honestly, plus youd get the added benefit of more local rivalries to help attendance. Even if it was just temporary (~10-15 years) to build momentum and then move back up.

I don’t agree with dropping down... Viator working on the problem now... just going take time...

The problem I’m referring to is NLU/ULM refusing to recruit Monroe kids for years... past coaches from out of state totally ignored the local area... The three city schools (Carroll, Neville, Wossman), four parish schools (WM, WO, Sterlington, Richwood), the privates (St. Fred’s, River Oaks, OCS) plus the surrounding parishes produce plenty of talent... obviously the 5, 4 and most 3 stars not choosing ULM... but you gotta recruit the hell out of the rest... local interest in familiar players would have drove attendance up...

Like I said Viator working on it ...a Monroe or surrounding area native as head coach would be better... but I won’t complain about Viator
