You do realize that Chase could fall because other guys played and showed improvement? He won’t have game film for a year. It could turn around and bite him. The NFL is a “what have done lately” league. Opting out is a risk that could cost him substantial money.

No doubt. I noted that in a post earlier today. But there is no way he's falling out of the first round.

Shelvin could literally go from a likely 3rd, with a shot at the first or second round to literally a day three draft pick. Shelvin is making an extraordinarily bad bet in my opinion.

Yes, it's a risk. A calculated one that likely leans in his direction. Everything is a trade off.

Spoke to a scout today. His take is that Chases decision makes perfect sense considering the strange circumstances this year and coming off about as perfect of a year as possible. He said the critical thing is taking this time to polish his skill set and be in tip top shape for the draft (that he can’t opt out of).....he said combine/workout participation is one thing he doesn’t have a say so in now.
