In which bobby was. He didnt want to do that, he wanted to win clean. But you really think he was about to stand up to Kreese over worrying about Daniel's well being?
His students knew he was a psycho

No but I was never talking about standing up to Kreese. At no point during the movie did Johnny ever show anything but contempt for Daniel so immediately flipping and handing him the trophy just because he lost to him didn't fit his character. He had just elbowed Daniel's knee totally unprompted by Kreese. It made sense for Bobby to apologize because he had shown compassion to Daniel already.

Sportsmanship and compassion are two different things.
Maybe he was envisioning Kreese or his stepfather more instead of seeing Daniel.

Daniel is the snake in grass.

Johnny’s character is so much more interesting than Daniel’s. Maybe because he enjoys being a badass and telling his students not to be pussies, while at the same time he is trying to teach the kids to be a better person than he was at their age.

I really like this show. I was going to watch it regardless for the nostalgia, but think the writing is very good. It surprised me how much I like it.

Ive never met anyone who’s drink of choice is Coors Banquet that I didn’t immediately get along with.

But yes, the activist, adventurer doctor. Even his picture made him look like the ultimate douche.

Johnny was clearly the bad guy in Karate Kid. Daniel was a bit of a jerk, but Johnny was older and should have been more mature. Can't shove a younger guy down the side of a hill while he's riding his bike or beat the crap out of him 4 to 1.
However, the creators of Cobra Kai said they wanted to explorer the idea that there isn't always a good or bad guy, it's mostly gray area. So there's not exactly a bad guy in Cobra Kai, but obviously that doesn't work well for tv, so they had to add someone.

But Bobby had showed he wasn't as into beating the hell of Daniel before. When they beat him up at the Halloween party Bobby was the one saying he's had enough.
Bobby was the odd one out - I think the writers in the first movie got him confused with one of the others.
He shows that he thinks Daniel has had enough and tries to stop it.
Apologizes to Daniel for the dirty hit.
Promptly yells out about getting a body bag for Daniel during the fight when it's obvious Daniel's in pain.
I think they meant that last line for a different character but then it got added to Bobby's script instead. It just seemed out of place for him.

Ah, okay. All these years I thought it was the same guy. Glad to know I was wrong as there was consistency with the character.

yeah, Bobby was the 2nd best student in the class. He was disqualified after giving daniel the business from Kreese, he apologized and tbh im not even sure he was on the floor after that. I think he had to exit and go to the back, so he wouldn't have been there for the final fight

I aN pretty sure Daniel’s son is the bad guy.

I really hope they don’t treat the Johnny/Daniel relationship the way Suits did Harvey/Louis. That roller coaster got old after a while.
