As far as Italians I know that as late as the early 60's one better not be caught south of Ponchatoula Creek after dark.

My dad (mid 70s) told me he remembers when there were still signs posted to this effect on the bridge. Something like you’d be wise not to let the sun set on you before you crossed the creek if you were Italian.

My brother did it . Just went out there with a costume that looks like he's on Trump's shoulders waving an American flag with a giant flag hat.

They wouldn't even look in his direction.

Used to see BLM protesters quite a bit in downtown Covington during lockdown. One day, I sat outside with a beer and watched the public reaction to their presence. I was a little surprised to see that just about every white person under 35 that drove by would blow their horns and cheer them on.

I stated during the Del Porto debacle that Covington has quite a few libs. Ironically, they really don’t interact with the black community.

Gimme a double strawberry daiquiri from that place over there by the protesters and I can sit on that bench across the road for an hour.

Mouth watering now. I think I'll go there one day this week.

Next time you see those two guys, suggest to them they take a trip down Sisters Rd. Make sure they have their big bright BLM posters with them.

I didn’t see them, but there are better area to send them to. How about down To Lee’s Landing.

‘88 also, we’ve discussed that before.

I think Lee’s Landing would be a good terminus for their protest. Maybe start at CC Road, around Sam Arnold Loop then Traino to Lee’s Landing, show them all what the suburbs Of Ponchatoula have to offer.

Carretta’s to Rainbows to Stray Cats would be a nice pub crawl once everything reopens.
