re: Generator help needed

Sounds like a fuel issue. Fuel left in the carburetor bowl will plug the jets. Remove bowl and use compressed air to clean jets. Be careful not to lose anything.

If it will run on carb cleaner then it’s not an air or firing issue. IMO.

Escape from L.A.
Went duck hunting with Double Sprig Outdoors (SW of Houston) a couple of years ago. The guide put out Sandhill Crane decoys in the field behind the duck blind. We ended up with 6 cranes, making it a great duck hunt. He indicated that they do dedicated crane hunts.

Disclaimer: The guide is a relative.

Understood. Thanks.

It seems like Dallaswho offered a reasonable explanation. Cycling power quickly will cause the compressor to start against a higher head pressure. Probably not the best idea if the compressor is already struggling.

I would want to know why the tech had to cycle power at the air handler.

If the tech lets the unit sit for a few minutes, the refrigerant pressure will stabilize at the saturated pressure. Thus making it easier for the compressor to start.

My $0.02.
My 4 ton compressor failed 2 summers ago. With compressor under warranty, I was charged $2200 to replace it. That was around 12lbs of R410A and labor. I agree that the price is high but it appears to be consistent with others.
My son has a 2008 Grizzly 700 that i rebuilt. I thought I read online that starting in 2009, Yamaha added external tubing to the stator cover that would force oil flow over the stator for cooling. This was due to overheating stator failures.
I bought a new 2017 220LTS with factory installed Yamaha 200 4cyl. It was not enough motor for that hull. I tried everything (props, motor height, etc..) but still had a slip of 20%. This was the re-designed hull that was supposed to be faster.

I sold it when kids wanted to hunt rather than fish.

I still can’t believe the factory specified and installed motor wouldn’t get bow out of the water. Original prop was a 21p. I called Triton and they told me that was the correct prop (full throttle achieved 4000rpm). Yamaha shares some blame as I don’t believe that motor makes 200hp.

While I would own a Triton again, I’d explore more options before purchasing another boat.

re: F150 Tailgate latch issue

Is it the machanical latch or the electronic button? My 2017 F150 has only the electronic button and I began having trouble getting it to open. A YT search identified many owners with same problem. Bought new actuator from dealership and replaced myself.

It’s actually Ice Hole Coolers.

I bought the 18 can soft cooler. It has been great for use on my 4-wheeler: fairly priced compared to Yeti, green for hunting, has attachments loops on side for securing to rack while still allowing easy access.

Check out Ice Hole coolers. I have been impressed with the quality

Other things to consider:

I assume you have one dedicated return (where your filter is). If you leave doors closed, you can starve the return duct of air flow. The return will then pull air from the attic or from outside (thru leaks) to make up for the loss. I’ve tested air velocity leaving my supply registers and there’s a substantial reduction when doors are closed.

I’ve also seen poorly installed ductwork. Flex duct that is pinched, duct exiting the end of the plenum, etc.

i know the 20F rule between the outside and the inside,

I believe you are referring to the supply air should be 18-21F cooler than the return air.

As others have said, the following things can cause poor performance:

Incorrect air flow (dirty filter, dirty evap coil, wrong fan speed)
Incorrect Refrigerant charge
Dirty condenser coil
Poorly insulated house
Poorly sealed windows, doors, etc.
Poor installation

One of the companies mentioned in this thread has done work for me in the past. Let’s just say, they are the reason I took the EPA test and have learned to do my own work.

First the capacitor was replaced. It worked again for 24 hours and stopped again. Then they replaced the motor outside and again, it worked for 24 hours and is now working when it feels like it. Sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn’t.

What only comes on sometimes?

The condensing unit (outside) has two parts that run. Visually check if the fan is running and listen for the compressor.

It should be obvious whether or not the inside fan is running.

Curious what repairs were made? Same issue this time?

Hombre has always been towards the top of my list
Popeyes

Typical experience:

Went to one in Ferriday two weekends ago. Multiple cars in drive-thru asked to pull forward and park. I wait impatiently as employee brings me my order. I can tell it’s not my order and inform the idiot. She looks at SUV driving away and says “dat man jus took yo order”.

This person has no concept of taking responsibility and just like a large portion of the population, she believes everything wrong in her life is someone else’s fault.

NFA rules apply to barrel length and overall length.

Keep the barrel16” or longer and the overall length 26” or longer and you’re legal.

From a quick internet search, bluish smoke indicates that a motor is burning oil.

I would do a compression test. Most auto parts stores will sell a kit for performing the test.

You’ll be able to identify if it’s cylinder/piston/rings or a valve problem.

At Brute Central in the Brute Talk forum. Look on the second page of the ‘Places to get stuff’ thread. There’s a link to a 2012-14 Brute Force service manual. It should suffice as there were little changes from 14 to 16.
