Friday’s gains put the Dow in positive territory for the year. The Dow had not sported a year-to-date gain since late February, when it traded around an all-time high. After Friday’s close, the Dow was up 0.4% for 2020.

There goes the “Trump wrecked the economy” talking point being run out by the Dems.

This was the greatest buying opportunity of all time. It sucks for those who didn’t take advantage of it

The stock market is not the economy. What it wrecks is the argument that, if Trump were elected, the market would tank. Of course that argument has been wrecked since Wednesday, November 9th.

Trump isn’t responsible for the shut downs for the 100th time.

The Portland mayor just sent a letter to the White House saying we’re in an “economic recession”. If that were true, the stock market would be busted.

I put cash on the side during the 2016 election and lost out on some gains. I threw cash back in the market at the bottom during COVID in March and I'm up substantially.

I mean, we might have exited the recession already, but we won't know if for a few months. But we were in a deep recession. The stock market does not have to track that as directly as you are implying.

It's because interest rates are so low. There is no where else to put your money.

I will be willing to make bets with all Poliboard Lefties over the following...

Total Deaths in the US for 2019 will not be higher than total deaths for 2020 by more than 0.1%.

I hit the mid March low pretty much dead on. Picked up one of those interest free (for a fixed fee) loans to add into the market too. It's not usually wise to borrow to put money in the stock market, but that was a once in a decade stock opportunity.
