The catechism is clear on the abortion issue, and bidens's beliefs directly contradict it.

Last year he was denied communion at a catholic church over it.

was it perhaps distasteful to say it during a convention? Maybe. but it is the truth technically speaking.

I don't really care about calling him a fake anything but I will say that anyone that believes and supports abortion is not a Christian, especially a politician that has fought to preserve such a practice for many years...

Would the RCC be willing to excommunicate him?

He's right. No technically about it.

They don't do de jure excommuincations any more. Biden is defacto excommunicated as a public sinner, though. I wish they would still de jure excommunicate though.

If he is being denied communion over it, then that should be a big enough warning shot and punishment to any Catholic who cares about their faith.

Most politicians only care about the appearance of their faith...

Kinda like Pelosi and her favorite word...

This should not be controversial. He supports a mortal sin and passed laws to encourage people to commit mortal sins. This is a no-brainer. The priest who give him communion should be censured.

This would imply that nearly half of all American Catholics are "fake Catholics." Also, I don't see why being denied communion in one church on one occasion would carry more weight than the hundreds of times he received communion in other Catholic churches. And I really don't see why Lou Holtz carries any weight in this discussion at all. I'd understand if Lou Holtz said "Biden supports abortion, so don't vote for him." But questioning someone else's overall faith is really fricking stupid, no matter who it is or what the faith is. It's a ridiculous path to go down. I figured we'd all agree on that.

I'm sure there are many Catholics that are in the disposition of sin prior to receiving the Eucharist. The issue is no one knows it in the majority of cases. However if your sin is public policy and you have not renounced that policy the Church's clergy should deny you communion until you repent through reconciliation.

Dems the rules.

Just ask Nancy. She won't approach a church anywhere .....

The RCC does not need to make an overt act to excommunicate someone albeit they will for various reasons as a last resort. Their charge is to save souls and they try as hard as they can. The majority of the time non-reconcilable Catholics excommunicate themselves.

yes Holtz is correct, Biden is not in line with the Vatican and the teachings of the Catholic church, to truly be able to take the Eucharist and be in line with the church he would have to go to confession and do his penance over support abortion among many others.

I believe abortion is a mortal sin so he would be committing more sins by taking the Eucharist with mortal sin on him.

Not familiar enough with the practices of Catholics but this statement is enough to bring anyone's faith into question if they profess to be a Christian...
