So last Tuesday I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Nothing too exciting, but got to chill for the next few days to recover. Well this weekend I’m hanging with a friend who notices I have a bruise about 3/4 inch thick running from one side of my neck to the other, just under my Adam’s apple. It’s big enough and noticeable enough that it looks like I’ve had my neck restrained in some way. So I’m curious, is it normal to be restrained during this procedure? I was lights out for at least an hour, so I honestly have no idea what would have been used to cause it.

Your shite gets bruised during the extraction. I doubt it's from restraining.

I looked like Marlon fricking Brando with purple and yellow makeup for a week.

Yes. I’ve got a very large bruise running across my neck that looks to be the result of being restrained. Nothing else could have caused it because I just sat on my arse for 3 days recovering.

It’s running across the base of my neck. I have zero bruising on my face.

That is extremely odd, have you contacted your oral surgeon for an explanation?

No I haven’t. It’s not painful or anything, but I probably should give them a call. I didn’t notice it until my friend asked if someone had been choking me. Once I looked in the mirror It was pretty clear that something was across my neck. My hand fits it perfectly. It’s very linear

It's strange, because I had an adverse reaction to the anesthesia, but they didn't restrain me by my neck. I think you should contact your surgeon as soon as you can to see what's causing that.

Rookie mistake. You get them pulled 2 at a time. Get more pain meds this way

I was actually surprised the prescribed me oxicotin. They limited the dose to I think 6 or 8 pills though.

I don’t think I had an adverse reaction. I was out in an instant. It just a very strange area to restrain someone if I was in fact restrained.

You don't restrain anyone by their neck, in almost any instance.

That all sounds abnormal. I didn't even get knocked out for this. Just got some lidocaine injections in my gums. I was back at my desk working later that morning.

It was a Friday, so I held off on the narcotics until it was time to go home. Then I got zonked for a couple of days at home. Pretty simple thing in every way.

Not the best pics unfortunately, but you can see where it runs across my neck. It’s more pronounced looking at in the mirror than in this pic.

I tried to get local injections but they were like you really want to be out for what we have to do to remove the two impacted teeth. All in all it went fairly smoothly.

I’m feeling pretty good. I never really had any moments where I was just miserable. It’s just been a struggle to talk because I have several stitches along my lower left gum line along with several more in the back of my mouth. I did hold off taking those last 2 oxis until I needed them. I ended up cutting them in half to stretch them out a few days.

Man, I thought it was weird that my butt hurt after getting my wisdom teeth out. Don't know what the hell they did to you.

Wow...I guess wisdom teeth that are impacted are MUCH harder to remove cause my mouth was jacked up for a few days after I had them removed.
