I think Poch showing interest screwed up the original plans. Then Conte being available really threw a wrench in the search. We probably would have had someone like Potter by now if not for that happening.
It’s been a total shitshow though.

I think Mexico might actually be worse than Tottenham at defending corners.

We're really about to hire the manager sacked by the seventh-placed team in Serie A to replace the manager of the seventh-placed team in the EPL who has already been hired by the seventh-placed team in Serie A.

Not that I'm trying to defend the hire, but his contract was technically up at the end of the year and Roma has a bunch of injuries down the stretch.
The new owners of Roma then decided to make a splash hire with Mourinho.

I can’t pretend to know much about this guy, but that’s kind of the point isn’t it? After this entire debacle Tottenham decide to go with some dude pushed out by Roma? I never thought I’d miss the Graham Potter rumor days.

So from what I'm reading this is Paratici's guy. Which makes sense that it's out of the blue.

If Paulo Fonseca is our new DoF’s wish then so be it
Everything else we’ve done has been shite so I’m not complaining until there’s something to complain about. We had to get something done before the Euros so that’s at least a positive

Yeah, I realize he inherited a difficult situation at Roma with new ownership, but nothing about his managerial record gives me confidence. If this is Paratici's guy then you have to let him do his job and bring him in, but this is as uninspiring as it gets IMO.
Screams of someone who won't cost anything, won't demand anything from the club, and ultimately is just happy to get another job. I hope I'm wrong.

Exactly. It only slightly feels like a step above a caretaker type appointment. That said, and I think most of us feel this way, the manager in charge next season is secondary to shipping out a number of players to at least attempt to change the locker room. Whether it was Conte, or this guy, any manager would be starting behind the 8 ball with this current group. The big difference being Conte has a resume to fall back on with the fans, Fonseca not so much.
I’ll try and remain calm through the transfer window, and see what kind of business Tottenham are able to take care of, but recent events certainly don’t inspire much confidence.

After reflecting on it the last 24 hours I’m getting more comfortable with it. I think if you dig in, he has a couple of nice qualities. I love that he is tactically flexible and that he has managed in 3 or 4 different countries/leagues. I don’t know. Just think it could be a diamond in the rough scenario.
I’m also assuming Kane is gone with this hire and we are heading into a rebuild. Just hopeful we actually spend that money on legit talent and not a bunch of high risk high reward types.

This has to be the biggest shrug ever for us Spurs fans here. I'm hopping on the bandwagon, let's ride!

Oh man, I’ve been at a wedding all day, and I’m just now seeing the news about Eriksen. So thankful he seems to be stable, and in good hands.
Very glad I wasn’t watching that match live, and knew he was in hospital in stable condition before reading about the events. It sounds like the cameras showed entirely too much of what was going on. I had a close friend die last January from a heart attack at 38. I can’t imagine having to witness that on the field. Hoping for a speedy recovery for him.

Good to see Italy playing so well in the Euros since we have been linked with every Serie A player since announcing Paratici

Lol was thinking the same thing

Don't look now, but according to Fabrizio, the Fonseca deal may be falling apart.
ETA: Gattuso, come on down.

I had absolutely mental gymnastics myself into every one of those guys. I guess one more won't hurt.

hahaha same here. I have researched myself into accepting each one of these guys. Gonna be a tough task on Gattuso I think.
