They cut her salary by $100K. Pretty racist IMO

The council on Monday approved proposals that would reduce the police department by up to 100 officers through layoffs and attrition. Chief Best was vocal in her oppostion to the cuts, which came after councilmembers pledged to redirect money from SPD to community programs amid calls from protesters in the wake of George Floyd's death in Minneapolis.
Budget cuts approved by the council will eliminate nearly $4 million of the department’s $400 million annual budget. While the cuts fall well short of what Black Lives Matter protesters are demanding, councilmembers pledged to cut further in 2021.
Seattle has about 1,400 police officers currently.
A call to Chief Best went unanswered Monday night. Mayor Durkan’s office did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment.

Guy from Town Hall said on Shannon Bream’s show that the city council is looking into retracting her salary cut, her salary cut only, because it looks racist for her to make less than her white male predecessor.

They are some of the highest in the country.
Poor people and people of color suffer the most in Democrat run cities.

Why is it that liberals have to infest beautiful areas like the Pacific Northwest, Bay Area, etc.? They should all stay on the Eastern Seaboard

When libbys talk about misogynistic wars on women, mention this and get their thoughts.

That *THIS* is the sticking point for them...
Really shows there is no bottom to the mental illness of the left. None.

BLM protestors demand that a very successful black woman have her pay slashed by 40%. What a clown world we’re in.
She’s been with SPD for 28 years so she’s probably going to make more by retiring at $285K salary before that $100K pay cut kicks in

There is no way anyone with a spine will want that job now. Seattle will be Chicago 2.0 from now on.

Have you seen what some of the police in Seattle earn?
Example:
Police officers earning up to $414,543
All a mayor has to do is exert a little job security pressure, and what do you get? Police standing down to protect their golden parachutes.
Always, always. always follow the money.

Twenty SPD employees out-earned police chief Carmen Best ($289,420). The five highest paid included Ron Morgan Willis (patrol officer - $414,543); William Edward Jr (sergeant - $360,277); Steven Kim (officer - $332,274); Eric Zerr (sergeant - $331,413); and Brian Miles (sergeant - $328,338).
Other high earners included assistant chief of collaborative policing Adrian Diaz ($241,802), who seeks to foster positive relationships between the department and the community; hostage negotiation officer James Garner ($273,917); and bomb squad sergeant Daniel Miller ($279,266).
SPD employees earning six figures last year cost taxpayers a total of $237 million and included 1,052 officers, 172 sergeants, 61 lieutenants, and 23 captains. At the police academy, nineteen instructors made between $167,000 and $247,796. The high earner was Sergeant Linda Cook – and she was the only female of the nineteen instructors listed.
Our auditors also found 102 sizeable pensions that exceeded six figures annually. Highly paid retirees included Neil Low (advanced training commander - $196,416); Daniel Oliver ($192,444); Fredrick Hill (former East Precinct commander - $186,132); Ronald Wilson (former East Precinct commander - $184,020); and Michael Fann (traffic division commander - $168,696).

Not sure why any of them are still showing up for work at this point. Maybe just the ones who were slower getting their resumés together?

Partially but it's more that her retirement is probably based on her salary when she retires so losing that $100K would hurt forever.
