These new models are available for pre-order on 8/14 and will ship in early September. To me, these 770s look pretty slick. I love my 790s but these will give a bit more players’ iron profile. Rick Shiels approves.

P7MB might be my favorite looking iron.

Interesting, the 770 look similar to a Sub 70 699 Pro.

I might be in the minority with this but their MC line of late looks cheap. Not sure why I think that, might be the lines.

MC actually reminds me of the 2005 RAC TP’s which was some of the best irons TM ever produced IMO

Those are beautiful looking for sure. The price is a bit steep tho by TMAG standards.

If someone wants to drop that kind of coin on sticks, I would go with the new Mizuno 921 line. The feel of Mizuno can not be compared.

Miuras are better.

Basically what every hollow iron looks like or simply a more compact 790.

The P770 is a remake.

It originally came out with the 730, 750 and 790 irons a few years back. The new 770 is a tungsten iron, which is the main difference. It also looks like the old 730, which was a muscleback iron.

Here's a pic of the old 770-

Yeah it seems like they are trying to leverage the people that like last cycle's P790 but want a smaller head and thinner top line (generally better players).

The interesting part of the video is said the irons weren't very workable. I can see people who are low cappers that won't like that if it bears out to be true, and the mid cappers may be scared off of the smaller head.

I guess if you are a low/mid-capper that isn't concerned with power lofts and extra distance and is looking to bridge into players irons, this may be club for you.

Seems to be the new trend, and a good one. Mizuno was one of the first that I heard of doing this. I'm sure there are more. Although I hit the MP20 4 and 5 longer, the Mizuno MMC had a much tighter dispersion for my long irons.

Dispersion is all you want in an iron, it is a precision tool

Maybe this is for its own thread, but I think there’s a balance between forgiveness and feedback.

I find that having players irons even in the long irons helps keep me from being lazy with my swing. I can’t take a swing off. I’m not playing blade either. But I want to know when I’ve made a bad strike and I kinda want to be penalized for it to some extent. I think it has helped my game in the long run. One day, when I’m older, I’ll overcome my pride and go back to the bigger, longer, more forgiving offerings.

Welp, of course Miura is the best club...but for the same price what TM is charging for the new sticks...Mizuno is much better.

I have never been a TaylorMade fan, but those are some good looking irons.

I watched his video and it doesn't appear that these new irons have the hot spots that dome other foam filled heads have.
