If you grew up eating beef BBQ then it takes a while to learn to like eastern NC pork Q with the vinegar base sauce. I learned to like it because at business lunches that was a commonly catered item. My wife on the other hand is not a fan and we’ve been in eastern NC over 20 years.
Sam Jones started another place in Winterville, NC (near Greenville) that still has whole hog but he expanded the menu to ribs, chicken and more sides.
Also agree w/ SClibertarian, Scott’s is great BBQ.
