Anyone Feel Like Some CFB Writers Are Rooting Against Season?

It's so annoying on Twitter to see them constantly fear-mongering about the virus. We get it, college football is in bad shape and there is a chance there won't be a season.

But I've seen multiple writers (Pat Forde and Dan Wolken come to mind) who seem to be getting some weird joy out of the season potentially being cancelled and seem to be rooting for there not to be a season.

It's really annoying, especially because having major CFB writers come out against the season can start to turn the tide against college football being played.

I’ve seen some take strong offense to this given that no season affects their livelihood.

I don’t think they’re rooting against it
I think they’re just trying to “I told you so”

They all said the season wouldn’t start and want to be “right”

This is a sports board on a college sports forum. Don’t like people hoping/wanting for sports to resume....there is a log out button

The only small silver lining if college football gets cancelled is the firing of wolken and forde. Both guys are Grade A douchebags

Not really.

But I also don't let journalists grab my precious feelings right through my panties like half of this site does.

It’s all about being the first one to report something. I don’t think they are rooting for it to happen but some would love to say they called it first.

I do think it’s a little irresponsible though. I hate to admit it but some of those guys have more power than most realize

I feel like a lot of sports journalists root against sports in general. It’s like they don’t even like sports and the only reason they are writing about sports is because they were assigned to cover it. But they’d rather be doing political journalism.

It’s still fresh and settling in their minds that mere months ago they witness the greatest offense, QB and team of all time win the NC in a historic run. Understandably, they need time to recuperate.

You’re yelling at that poster to log out of a sports message board
What the frick did that have anything to do with what he said ?

He’s saying sports writers have taken offense to people saying they want no football season, since no football season affects their job

A number of baseball writers are this way.

There are so many human interest stories on the negative affects of shutting down CFB and not restarting pro leagues that can be/could have been written. The fact that they aren’t is evidence that clearly shows that the journalists want it to be cancelled.

I just heard this dumbass Myron Metcalf on ESPN saying there is no chance for football..... he’s horrible to listen to. He sounds like his tongue is 10 inches thick.

There is a reason they got assigned to the sports page instead of the front page early in their careers.

I remember Buddy Diliberto saying he could not get some of the guys at ESPN who tried to bring politics into sports.

"You go dere to gettaway from dat stuff. Plus if ya tawkin da Saints dere are many better story lines.....sqwhirls, Tom Benson...."

It's really strange. That is almost certainly the case, yet you look at their Twitters, and they're feeding into negativity so much.

It's not even like they are being pragmatic and looking into both sides of the argument. It's just negativity.

They want to move forward in their careers and they think no sports will open them up to the news sources

Look what the most watched news programs are , they are the political ones (Hannity the most watched followed by Tucker)
Of course most of these guys are left leaning, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the left leaning news shows on those channels get more views than PTI, Around the Horn etc as well

lol, I’m yelling? Don’t be dramatic

That is not what he is saying. Read his post history. Dude loves the idea of a select few making all the decisions for adults. He’s never met a Tyrant he didn’t like lol. He’s a strong advocate for lockdowns and cancelling everything.
