I’ve been listening to Dan Carlin’s Supernova in the East Podcast and have been on a kick for some Imperial Japanese history/China Pre WW2. Any recommendations on books?

Also as an aside, I’ve always enjoyed the Crimean War and anything surrounding that. So any recommendations for that as well.

I agree that recommendations for ancient China and the Qin dynasty would be cool. If you're into manga, theres a wicked series called Kingdom that quite closely follows the narrative of the Qin dynasty. It's excellent.

I just read Carlin’s The End is Always Near... if you like the podcasts you’ll probably like this.

I just started a biography of Napoleon by Robert Andrews that’s pretty good.

To answer your OP..

If you’re into the time frame or liked the Kingdom of heaven movie.. it’s what peaked my interest in the topic but the Crusades- by Thomas asbridge was really good..

Solid fairly easy to read history of the crusades and told from a fair perspective of both Christianity and Islam by a British professor
