I’m a republican first off before the attacks come. I just want some civil conversation about the election. Personally, I am not a fan of trump. I think he is not great when it comes to foreign policy with our allies and can cause problems there. I think he sometimes focuses too much on hating Democrats and tweeting. However I will vote for trump in November as I did in 2016. Do any of you feel as I do, meaning even though you’ll support him, you almost have to hold your nose and tongue to do so?

The alternative is so bad there is no other option. Our allies are more of a problem than trump. Yes Trump is an a-hole but when you are talking about the leader of the free world don’t you want someone who isn’t going to take shite off anyone?

I find his foreign policy one of his strong points. Women want a leader who is loved by other countries. A man leads.

But to answer you question, My vote for Trump was more a vote against Hillary last election, I'm enthusiastically voting for Trump this time despite my dislike of him as person.

I wouldn’t say I have to hold my nose, but a lot of the stuff he says disappoints me. I don’t like his populist messages like how he’s going to freeze evictions nationally.

The left is so fricking crazy that even with his negatives I look forward to voting for him.

Offer up some specifics. Like what do you not like about his foreign policy?

Trump’s foreign policy is one of this strong points imo

His weaknesses are almost entirely personal and character-wise

Pretty much sums up where I am.
Even the Libertarian candidate is a non-starter (open borders).

Editing to add: I've agreed with his foreign policies. Other candidates would have started new wars by now.

Do I think that he should tweet a little less? Yes

Will I hold my nose and vote for him like I did in 2016? No.

I will drive up to the polling station blaring God Bless the USA and I will strut into the voting booth and enthusiastically vote for DJT!

America has been taken advantage of and unfairly criticized by friend and foe alike. We needed a push back. We needed a reset.
Democrats have been abusing Republicans for decades without a counter attack ever launched. They need a punch in the mouth.

Happy on both accounts.
I abhor the establishment and the fake arse decorum that only works on a one way street.

Trump has his flaws but ,for me, not this.

I love the fact that he is standing up for Americans. I personally like his personality as someone who is honest.

As far as foreign policy, whether we like it or not, the world is connected and intertwined like never before. With China, he is exactly right to do everything and say everything he has said. But in a lot of ways, he is alienating and attacking our closest allies and I can see that being a very bad thing. The covid-19 thing is honestly not helping either. I think that was handled horribly nationwide, in every state and federally.

I just wish he would quit tweeting so much and not antagonize our allies, because I feel like we’ll need them very soon against the Chinese.

Have you watched the "News" in the last 4 years? If he didn't tweet, would millions of American's even KNOW he was spied on and that ALL of the Russia BS was a Hoax??!!

Same here. Didn't vote for Trump in primaries in 2016 and it was more a vote against Hillary. This time it is a vote for Trump although I could do without the tweets and all. Actions speak way louder than words and his policies are why I will vote for him and not his "words."

I think he's been excellent on foreign policy compared to the Republican Party as a whole. You think he'll cause problems with our allies where? How? The Europeans are going to do what? Eschew the United States who is almost entirely responsible for maintaining the stability of the Western world? I really don't understand when I hear people express this concern. It's borderline absurd.

Not to mention he is the the first U.S. president to take on the Chinese. This has been long overdue. He vows to keep us out of global police affairs and has kept us out of any international conflicts aside from finishing off ISIS swiftly whereas both Republicans and Democrats pre-election were dying to confront Russia in Syria and topple the Assad regime and place U.S. occupation forces in another Middle Eastern country. No, I am quite pleased with his foreign policy. I would dare say he was a godsend in rerouting us away from our bipartisan, disastrous post-Cold War foreign policy.

None of that has anything to do with why we elect leaders, which is to steer policymaking. Perhaps you should reconsider why you are even voting in the first place and put things in better perspective.

The fact that Trump is vain and petty is recognizable and still totally irrelevant when comparing him to the alternative political forces in this country which are generally antithetical to conservatism in nearly every respect.

You like that he stands up for America.
You like the way he has dealt with China.

BBBUUUUUTTTTT:

You need to be more specific....give some examples.

The covid-19 thing is honestly not helping either. I think that was handled horribly nationwide, in every state and federally.

Ok, here we go again....
What exactly did he do wrong that you feel ANYONE else would have done differently that would have been better for the U.S.? Please name whatever politician you think would have the U.S in a better position.

If the answer is NO ONE, then why in the hell bring it up?
