trying to plan something for this year to go out for a couple of days and camp and hunt. Like pack in a tent, find a good spot and stay there a couple nights. Hunt during the day. Primitive camping I guess is the term?
Anyway, hard to find info online, was thinking somewhere in Kisatchie. Would like the hunting to be bow only in whatever area I'm in.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Just want to make sure I don't break any rules and would like to talk to local ranger or green jeans to confirm.

You can primitive camp anywhere along the Azalea Trail, and that goes through some pretty country too.

You can't hike and camp on WMA's but you are correct, you can on Kisatchie, look into their specific regulations to stay legal.

I camped at kasachie in my early 20s with about 10 college buddies.. it was basically a Woodstock experience there was probably 100 people at that camp site and it was more of a party In the woods than hunting..

You’re trying to do a Western hunt where it isn’t needed. Just set up a camp by your truck and walk out every night.
A more appropriate place for the type of hunt you describe would be in the mountains of Arkansas.

Find you a WMA you like that has a primitive campground near some decent woods to hunt.
You could drive to the campground, unload, leave the truck locked for the weekend or whenever and walk to your hunting areas.
Westbay has some decent hunting near the Wolf Bay camping area.
Bodcau WMA has a few campgrounds with hunting near by..
