This is what is wrong with public schools. People like you want as little involvement as possible and instead prefer to give ultimate authority to the school.

Taking temperatures is not the issue. It’s what happens after that could be a problem. But sure, just place your feverish child in the care of a teacher that doesn’t want to be there anyway and wait for them to make the final decision on what should be done for your child’s care

I’m the teacher monitoring the kids before giving them a second temp check. I didn’t volunteer to do it by the way.

I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I think you have an inflated outlook on the level of medical care available at schools.

Schools will be a reflection of their state and local governments- an absolute shite-show.

So if someone has the virus they will mingle in the classroom with all of the other students for 30 minutes prior to having their temperature checked?

If someone has records over 100.4 temperature, what happens to all the students they already came in contact with?

You're under the mistaken impression this is about the spread of COVID.

This is what happens when politics and retardation meet.

“shite rolls downhill.“

We have no say so in these guidelines being forced on us.

What do kids do during the time between drop-off and first class starting?

We are going to try our best to follow guidelines. Just like the casinos.

I don’t and that’s my point. You shouldn’t be responsible for monitoring what is likely a sick child until the second temp check occurs.

Don’t steal my thunder!
I’ve already ordered my “A Hero lives here!” signs.

On a serious note, not many are aware the level of medical care thrust upon teachers everyday even before this pandemic. We have to make judgement calls all the time. A nurse isn’t always at our school. We err on the side of caution and call parents or 911 in most cases.

Maybe don't send your kid to school if they're sick?
