Headed to Toledo Bend this weekend. Need some tips for fishing. We are looking to catch whatever, bass, sock o let, sacalait, perch, crappie, white perch, yellow perch...you get it.
Any tips, tricks, advice as to how and what to fish with.
TIA

If you have never fished TB before hire a guide. It’s not an easy lake to fish for first timers.

Guide I talked to said it’s not worth it in mid summer.... sacs go deep because it’s so hot and you’ll just end up catching bream before you can get to the sacs

Be more specific Toledo bend is over 60 miles long.
What part of the lake are you staying?
but, like someone said all you hear about is the great catches but TB can be a very tough place to fish if you only go once a year or less than that.

Big black Texas rigged worm, sleep all afternoon and launch at dusk.
Fish at night around lighted piers/boat docks.
Also throw a black buzz bait or black spinner bait on dark banks

Go the extra 25 minutes to Sam Rayburn where the ecosystem hasn’t been destroyed by mismanagement.

The guides have been posting tons of pics of white perch. Summer is a good time to get into them deep on brush tops
Go with a guide (living the dream and Jeane’s are both excellent) or night fish for bass. If you have decent electronics you can get out in the 35-45’ range and find balls of shad with fish under them and vertical jig spoons for white bass which is fun. Them and the largemouth will school in the late evenings this time of year also

I was at TB 3 weeks ago. Used livin the dream guide service. We caught our limit of sacs by 11 am. They were deep but were biting. Great guide service.

Follow a few guide boats with a GPS

Where are you staying? Do you have electronics? I don’t white perch fish, but I’ve got some a couple white perch way points marked if someone with me wants some.

For sacs...find brush in 20-25 feet of water. Look for them to be suspended about 15-18 feet over the brush. Use shiners and jigs.
Per reports, the top water bite is good early. The bass move out to deeper water as it gets hotter.
