This time on North Harco Drive. One person dead.

It's amazing how unlucky democrat mayors always seem to be when it comes to high murder rates in their cities.

Kind of surprised that that's actually Baton Rouge. Figured it may be unincorporated.

My bad. When I posted that I didn't have a link, just an alert.

But thank you for your link-posting services to this forum.

We just need more programs, midnight basketball, and for the guns to not shoot themselves!

What a shocker.... it's such a nice area too.

Come on Gravy you fat fricking piece of lard. Make a video on the black on black crime and how it must stop before any of the other shite you claim to be racist can begin to heal and go away.

If you address this, you are racist.

There are much bigger white people problems affecting our POC neighborhoods.

Good point.. ...and not just St. George but what's really going on is much more than just saying "Baton Rouge" would have most believe.

The areas and neighborhoods that I've known for decades are as safe now as they were in the 60's. If you were to draw a massive boundary around about 15 square miles (a guess, probably more) of what has been a thriving city full of hard working, responsible citizens.. ...for the past 50 years until now you would hardly be able to find enough "fatal shootings" per year to count on one hand.

When I see these stories and the locations, they aren't in places I've even heard of... ..and I've been improving real estate here for decades. If you look at the homicide maps of what is now called "Baton Rouge", other than a few rare exceptions, they are ALL north of Florida Blvd, east of Airline Hwy., and west of N./S. Eugene.

That leaves a huge city to live in, do commerce, conduct business in, and raise families in without ever having to, for any reason, venture into very specific areas with "fatal shootings". I doubt most people in the old south Baton Rouge area have ever seen or heard of these places. Everything else is just a mis-association about the crime stories. I have properties in near equal proportion in both St. George and Baton Rouge. I hope for the best with the new zoning but if I were to put all my eggs in one basket for the long run, I'd bet heavily the safe money will be on the very wide expanse known as old south Baton Rouge. For over 50 years that real estate has continued to appreciate in value and desirability in ratios over and above anything like it anywhere near its perimeter.

It's very near a misnomer to say shootings are in Baton Rouge. Granted, the zoning map indicates this.. ..and if there was any indication shooting took place anywhere but clearly identified, specific zones outside of, and clearly away from the thriving community most here consider Baton Rouge, I may think it could be unsafe. No one has to point out the wisdom of a new public school district thanks to Judge Parker's shortsightedness. But for now, this is clearly a tale of two very different and separate cities sharing the same name.
