Got it. Makes sense. I suppose when the trout gets big enough and there is enough other fish to eat then they probably make the switch to dining on neighbors instead of bugs.
I suppose Browns probably eat a wider range of protein than other trout. I've read some articles on fishing for them with flies tied to look like mice.

In the summers they will school up and run the river like a pack of wolves at night.
If you can find them, you can catch some monsters. Use pretty big streamers and a fly rod with enough backbone to cast them.
ETA: I've never gotten into them like that. I've caught some really nice browns but my biggest is maybe 5-6 lbs.
Was with a good friend that caught one that was around 7-8. It was a hoss and was caught on a white whooly bugger.
