I agree with your underlying point. But to hopefully help you see how it’s possible, consider this. At this very moment, approximately half of the voting population is asking an almost identical question from the polar opposite perspective. They’re asking:
The short answer? The world is a big fricking place and we all see an infinitesimally small portion of it. Depending on what tiny portion you just so happen to see, it will radically shape your world perspectives. To the point that half the population can be asking your question while the other half simultaneously ask mine. Because our brains are fricking crazy things.
