This show is a damn masterpiece. I don't understand how I took so long to finally start watching it. If you haven't seen it yet, you should definitely check it out.

David Mitchell is the GOAT.

In the same boat. Thru season 5. Can't remember a comedy that continuously delivers like Peep Show.

I want to get into this show but it's having a hard time keeping my attention early on. I know that I'm just gonna have to focus better but my ADD has been a real son of a bitch.

IMHO the show is better known for some tidbits that you can find on YouTube. It didn’t capture me overall like it did for some people, but the funny parts are really, really funny.

the first season is so so. it finds itself more in the 2nd and really takes off in the 3rd

you do have to pay attention b/c a lot of the humor is nuanced and based of their personalities/neuroses and it builds on itself

Yup.

Mark's internal monologue is hilarious.

If it was the Dance Class episode of which you are speaking, I saw it on Amazon.

Yep. Rewatched the series like 4 times in the last 5 years. It’s brilliant.

I certainly don’t hate the first season, but it seems to turn a lot of people off.

Super Hans is awesome.

In my Top 2 of all time favorite comedies. Most people I show it to (especially women) just can't get into it, sadly.

The style is difficult to get used to and it looks like it was shot with a damn potato. Couldn’t get passed episode one. I want to try it again, but the wife basically nixed it as something she would ever watch. That’s fine. Maybe she can find a good book to read instead while I watch.

I've never laughed so hard at anything in my life than the BBQ dog bit. I have to do a rewatch soon, it's been years.

Interestingly enough the other show that had me laughing almost just as hard is the work outing episode of The IT Crowd. The wheelchair van scene and the Moss bartender reveal are legendary

I just started a rewatch after seeing this thread. The first season might start off slow, but the first episode lays out the formula pretty well.

Jez and Mark going at it, wacky stuff happening (cancer bait and switch, Stalingrad flirting, the kids) and I laughed out loud a few times (mark having to take a shite and inviting Toni over for cereal, his inner dialogue: "I think's it's retreated"), Superhans' intro.

The way it's filmed was unique back then. It was filmed as a first person perspective which not many Sitcoms were doing or have done since. You actually see through the two main characters eyes and I think that adds a nice dynamic because sometimes you feel like you are actually there instead of watching something. I think that adds to the comedy in a cool way.

As the show went on they phased the first person angles out but they keep it for a while.

I'm glad this thread popped up, I can't wait to go through it again.
