Walmart and Sam's Club shoppers will be required to wear face masks to prevent coronavirus spread in all stores starting July 20, the company announced Wednesday.

The Walmart in Denham Springs required masks Monday and had a huge pre-printed vinyl banner out front to tell shoppers. I wonder how Walmart knew in advance that JBE would mandate masks Saturday?

You can swamp them with more curb orders, shop online and local grocery stores or shop at competitors. They have nothing I can’t get elsewhere.

Well, the local store was handing out masks at the door if you didn’t have one, and not letting anyone in without one.

Up here in NC/VA there is masks requirement, about 40-60% wear them. They never stop anyone at walmart, to be honest they don't stop people anywhere. We're winding down on the use of Walmart, so this is just making it an easier decision for us.

So many companies shot themselves in the foot with COVID, shite on their legs with BLM support, and now I see Walmart is going for the rare suicidal hat trick. Bold strategy

I think they believe you don't have choices, or that they'll get the business online. We're actually getting to the point of going directly to manufacturers and getting stuff delivered straight - eliminate Amazon and Walmart completely, when possible.

- buy local meat find local producers
- buy fruits and vegetables
- can/freeze fruits and vegetables
- buy from local hardware stores when possible
- buy directly from producers or manufacturers and have it delivered directly to your door

Start you own chicken egg production, meat production and small garden.

I guess they’re all just ignoring the “you don’t have to wear a mask if you have a preexisting medical condition that precludes covering your mouth and nose” or they’re taking a stance of not allowing people to shop at their store due to a medical condition. Seems like that would open them up to lawsuits.

I worked every goddamn day for two months when this shite first started. No days off. We’ve been up and running since day one. I haven’t worn a mask once...why the hell should I start now?

The virus won't attack you if you only enter and leave out of the left side door in P'ville apparently.

Same as New Mexico skipping Wednesdays for school, the virus knows it can only attack on Wednesday so they smartly avoided that day.

cool ill just go to Publix, Kroger or Ingles for groceries which I did anyways, and amazon and Home Depot for anything I would need that Walmart has.

We know it may not be possible for everyone to wear a face covering. Our associates will be trained on those exceptions to help reduce friction for the shopper and make the process as easy as possible for everyone.

As expected, usual exceptions apply so "I'm medically unable".

ETA: I actually cannot remember the last time I was in a WM store.
