Yeah, well BLM was pretty clever with its name. It is opposition proof. One always feels the need to explain that of course they agree that black lives matter (lower case) before they can go on to criticize Black Lives Matter (with upper case).
But, what we saw from LSU was a full throated endorsement of Black Lives Matter - we dont have to pretend that we are unsure of what they are accepting.
It is clear.
BLM is a terrorist organization - LSU should be distancing itself accordingly.

In response to the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and the history of racism in Louisiana and throughout the country, LSU is intensifying our ongoing work to foster a campus community that is not only inclusive but anti-racist. We will start by listening to and validating the experiences and perspectives of people of color and continue with self-education, fervent action, and transparent humility—until equitable responses to these issues are inherent in each of us.
Mother of god...

Agreed, but they are indeed alienating a small number of people who matter deeply.

Sadly, you know this will absolutely happen
Does that means Arkansas will be able to beat LSU in the near future?

I think you are trying to minimize what type of people they are pissing off.
I am a freaking alumni, liberal, minority and work in academia. This stuff is pissing me off to no end. It is killing education, killing free thought and supporting a system that will go against the principles of higher education.
There is a difference between pursuing diversity (honorable) and forcing diversity (not honorable). I have seen first hand my department where I work at another university lose out on amazing faculty candidates because they chose to put them on the back burner and offer a less-qualified minority or female candidate that in the end turns us down, leaving us in a hole.
If you think this stuff can keep going on and people will forget it in a few months, you are sorely mistaken. This is different than some minor slip up. This is them publicly stating they will practice racial bias in hiring, funding, and support.

Bingo! There’s a difference between free thought and indoctrination, and we are flirting with the latter.
But I must say, as a UL(L) grad and donor, welcome to the club. We have been dealing with this nonsense in Lafayette for over a month now. Our university released a statement very similar to this. It’s gotten to the point where big time boosters have threatened to shut off the financial water supply because of how intense it’s all gotten. And if these movements go after the Ragin’ Cajuns nickname and the school gives in? I’m out. Finished.
What both universities should do is simple. Since they’re so “woke” now and have basically took a dump on the hand that feeds them, get a list together and go after the “woke” donors. We will see how much money they will fundraise then.

They are alienating a whole lot more than they think. Also, winning over a whole lot less than they think.

Liberal college leadership doesn’t reflect majority conservative alumni
Too bad alumni can’t replace liberal leaders with those that represent their values

Arkansas football needs to concentrate on winning their OOC games before they worry about winning SEC games.
ETA: I quit giving a shite about Hog football after Petrino got his arse beat for fricking Jessica Dorrell.

The posters over on the tRant do not want to believe any of this. They want to “leave politics out of sports,” but politics infiltrated sports long ago, and they are allowing the left to devour them.

Exactly, in more ways than one.
I'm friends with a significate donor here on the gulf coast that is livid about LSU's decision.

I’ll get like 60 downvotes on the tRant for pointing any of this out. The idiots have no idea what the real agenda is and how deep it will go of allowed. They think of LSU fans just don’t talk about it, things will go back to normal in the fall and LSU football will be just as great as it was in January.

Next, they'll start watering down the grades for blacks like UW did and then all of us with degrees from LSU will have spent thousands for a pretty piece of paper...
Such horse shite. Thanks, JBE.

"The conversation began last year when LSU administrators began using “holistic” admissions to build its freshman class. The administrators didn’t seek permission from their own Board of Supervisors or anyone else before enrolling students who didn’t meet minimum scores for standardized tests like the ACT.
Students who don’t meet the requirements can be admitted under a limited number of “exceptions” to the admissions minimums. LSU had exceeded the number of allowable “exceptions,” which is what caused the controversy in the first place. The policy, which went into effect immediately upon approval, increased the number of “exceptions” allowed, plus added fines if the schools admit too many “exceptions.”

LSU is a chocolate university.

Maybe they need to be introduced to the "Donor Lives Matter" movement...
