COVID “cases”

My DIL is a doctor and she says that if a person tests positive then is tested several times later then all tests are separate “cases” so one person can constitute several cases. This in addition to the cases where people leave before testing and are later declared to be positive. How inaccurate are the numbers?

No one knows.
Which is what they wanted.

This happened to a family member so don’t mistake it for a “my friend’s friend” story.
She went and signed in at a doctors office to get checked. They took forever and she was told it would be an hour or so longer so she left. Didn’t see a doctor and got a letter saying she tested positive.
They’re full of shite.

I lend the numbers about as much credibility as I do Presidential polling.

These two questions are probably the most important that can be asked right now.
I'd like to see these questions asked to the governor and his experts. I'd love to see how they answer it.

Since we really don't know how many people have contracted COVID-19, let's use total population in the calculation:
330 million people
138,030 Americans died of COVID-19
138,030 ÷ 330 million = 0.0004182727
99.95817273 of all Americans have not died from COVID-19.

There have several of these today. Either legit or an urban legend.

I emailed a few of LA’s state reps who sit on the Health and Wellness committee yesterday to request they perform a full audit on the tests and results. I heard they are also counting hospitalizations as anyone in the hospital who has the Kung Flu. So if you’re asymptotic with a broken arm - BAM, one more COVID hospitalization.

Doctors/hosptials make a frick ton of money for each coronavirus diagnosed case they treat. Is it any surprise that the cases are "surging"?
Posted on 7/13/20 at 9:57 pm to shrevetigertom
100% true. My wife is a PA for an urgent care on the gulf coast. She is seeing first hand how fricked this whole thing is. Not only do they count as multiple positives, but there are some who have had it but haven’t shown symptoms in 7 days and are out of the 14 day window who get re tested and have another positive test. And she has to log that as another positive case. Such a joke.

I’ve seen the letter. I know her instance is true. I’m can’t speak for anything else.

I’ve also been told that symptoms only are enough for a healthcare facility to log a positive. No test required.

This is exactly how it is reported in Georgia. When a person gets a positive test, then does their 2 week thing, then goes to get the followup test so they can return to work, but tests positive again, it gets officially counted as two cases.

Dude.
That is long division WITH fractional decimals. 5th and 6th grade level math.
We can't expect our politicians and health professionals to be able to make such advanced computations.

I wish we still had investigative reporting in this country.

I’ve been tested twice and received negative results twice.
This “wives tale” that they are fabricating fake positive results after people have ‘waited for hours and then left’, is retarded. Everyone is saying that now. Lol

The cdc website says the ready tests are, at best, 80% accurate. These are the stories the media isn’t telling.
