You can't compare the 2.....different time different disease. The Spanish Flu was unleashed on unexpecting masses.

Spanish Flu killed millions in a world that was far less connected.

Tell them to read “The Great Influenza” by John Barry about the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-1920. COVID doesn’t hold a candle to the pandemic. The world population then was about one-third of what it is today, and the Spanish flu was probably responsible for 50-100 million deaths world-wide, with the lowest credible modern estimate being 35 million. A comparable death toll today would be in the range of 150 to 425 million. And the Spanish Flu affected people in their 20’s and 30’s in the prime of life. Sobering read, but puts this pandemic in perspective. Even though the Spanish flu was that bad, they focused on isolating the sick, and didn’t shut the economy down. After all, we were fighting WWI at the time.

Spanish flu is way worse than the WuFlu.
2018 flu epidemic is a little closer to what we're seeing.
It lasted 16 weeks and had a mortality rate over 10%.
