Last night, I was working weather at MSY, New Orleans International. Our temperature in Kenner was 91 F at 12:30 am last night. Dew point was 80 F. Had a heat index of 111 F at fricking midnight.
Once the light winds stopped coming off the Lake, the temperature came down to around 87 F around 1:00 am

Who moved here. Came here in a horse and carriage. Built there house. Probably in October or something. Full pants and button down. Sleeping in a cotton night gown. Wife in a dress.
I bet the poor bastards who built the Atchafalaya Bridge probably had PTSD. I've heard camp stories that between the mosquitos and the heat (during summer) that it was literally maddening to be on those crews.

How did my ancestors live through this shite
Most of our distant relatives lived in cooler European climates.. the recent ones just made weird choices. Though my dad hated the cold..
