Cities like NYC, Boston, and most of Cali are ridiculous in these scams. It’s not a surprise all these cities have one thing in common: high tax rates and democratic run. That is not to say republicans do a better job. They fail in other ways, but elitism by Democrats is what is killing these places
Yes, New York and Boston are dying!

Wow. How many people that have put in years of work so they can retire aren’t tied down to a job..... you are stupid.... just keep going through life without a job you are “tied down to” and see how that works for ya....... but with your smarts you probably work the drive thru anyway.

weird argument isn't it lmao
4k for 4br isn't even expensive at all. this just a group of zoomers playing the system bc CARES act they knew they had 4 free months of living. they capped landlords and stacked the unemployment

You seriously lack reading comprehension.

Once again, a thread where a bunch of people living in Baton Rouge shite on living in one of the greatest cities on the planet. Always makes me laugh.
I can acknowledge, on one the hand, the greatness of NYC while, on gone other hand, recognizing how the manipulated real estate market in hyper-urban areas is a significant risk to the American economy.
It’s called complex opinions on complex issues.

While working as waiters.
Brilliant.

A perfectly valid point. But my comment wasn’t referring to people like you. More so those who say things like “New York is a shithole and full of liberals!” And leave it at that.

They're all in the restaurant business, sounds like waiters. Maybe don't try to live in the hip and trendy area if you can't afford it. Live somewhere cheaper.
They can easily afford it. They are choosing not to pay.

The percentage af income people are willing to pay for rent/mortgage just live in a city like NY is dumbfounding to me.
It is not like you are in some specialized field where the job market is constrained to certain areas. You are restaurant employees. Restaurants are going up by the 100s or 1,000s annually in many small to medium sized cities with much lower costs of living. Maybe consider relocating and being able to live with your significant other instead of 5 or 6 random arse people.

hope we aren't going back to that 25 year spell in the late 20th century when American cities started to hollow out and decline for a while.
Cities need a gut check every now and then

Depends on what you consider “too much”?

And as soon as two or three of them lost a job, uh oh....we have a big article about it.
No savings, apparently, no emergency fund, evidently, just what they hope is an unlimited supply of unemployment checks from the government.
