I still have no idea why there has never been little league in BR. The league ball was ok but not exceptional until about 3-4 years ago.. they have had some ok high school league stuff in surrounding parishes in the past few years from talking to friends whose kids didn’t play HS ball.. the toughest age seems to be 13-14 as kids really drop off that aren’t playing travel.. Lower end travel ball is essentially league ball on the weekends, which sucks.. My oldest played major from 11 until HS but my younger isn’t as serious.. loves to play but doesn’t really want to put the effort in getting past AA/AAA which means we play on weekends for what should be weeknight league ball..

Because Judson and Braden are too good for Little League.

Thanks! Just looking for options. Not gonna do travel ball and most of the team won’t play high school, but they have fun and probably would like to keep playing.

Is Little League even still a thing? Dixie Youth? I seriously don’t know. All my Facebook friends that have kids those ages have them chasing that scholly, playing 14 games in a day and a half, on the travel ball circuit where there’s seemingly a “World Series” every fricking weekend.

You can do tournament ball around BR and never leave the area.. downside is playing on weekends but if you can get a team to play 2 times a month for 3-4’ months, you’re looking at between 20-30 games which is plenty. You can play less and and get 20 games like many leagues.. There’s also some leagues associated with schools around, one being based over the River in WBR that play weeknight games at Rivault park.. I believe Livingston and maybe Central have some league ball but I know in the past that I believe they were draft leagues..

CAYL in Central has been a great organization for over 30 yrs. many years over 400 kids in various leagues.

Do young kids (12-15) play fast pitch softball or has that gone by the wayside ? When I was 15, I played in a fast pitch softball league of about eight teams. Iirc, two of the teams quit mid summer.
I don’t have any kids so I don’t know what is in Vogue. I did have a late uncle who pitched in many men’s fast pitch softball tournaments at Forest Park in BR (~1980-1984) . I never hear about that anymore.

You mean girls? If you mean boys, I’ve never heard of that

There was American Legion and Babe Ruth back when I was young.
